My newest painting. Not sure of the lineage of the sorrel but I believe the others are Shires, the largest of the draft horse breeds, and incredibly beautiful!

The Belgian Team

The heat of the day, the dust and the strength of these horses were what I was trying to capture in this painting. I love these guys, not the largest of the draft breeds, but simply beautiful in their coloring and personalities. I believe the smaller of the two here, the one on our right, was in training which I tried to present by his eagerness in step contrasted by the more methodical gait of the larger horse. Ah yesteryear! I was really born a hundred years too late.

Museum and Hall of Fame in Ft. Worth, TX
October 2 - 29, 2009. The opening is Oct 16th.
Sales are handled at the opening by interested buyers putting their names in a box and at a given hour names are drawn from the boxes. First name drawn is given first right to buy and so on.
